NEWS: 07th January 2008: Commonwealth Omnibus Issues Added Whilst searching for something else I came across a complete set of MNH and Used Sheetlets from the Crown Agents Issue of 1978 celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's Coronation in 1953. In the spirit of offering something different to start off 2008 I have now put these up on the Stamp-Collector site for your perusal. NEWS: 30th October: Addition of Machin Business Sheets and Panels. Today we have completed adding the Business Sheets including whole sheets, panels and even single stamps, plus a couple of odd panels where the issue date is not on the top panel. NEWS: 30th September: The Rarer GB Presentation Packs. I have now added the rarer GB Commemorative Presentation packs since 1999 to stamp-collector. Although I haven't listed them all - I can source just about any GB Presentation pack issued since the introduction of the larger format (and also some of the smaller ones). Just send me your wants list. I have only listed those that are more difficult to obtain. NEWS: 21st September: Channel Island (and Isle of Man) Issues. I have now added a few Channel Island Issues to stamp-collector. I have started with Alderney have moved on to Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man although only Guernsey is as yet complete. NEWS: 07th June : Do You need a SNIPing tool for eBay?

There has been a number of conversations taking place on a forum I belong to about the morals, value and fun level or otherwise of using SNIPING software on eBay.

I have been a member of the on-line sniping system called SNIP for about three years now and it has never let me down, so if you are interested in using this type of approach you could do worse than join this "club".

I have done a bit of research on these tools and it does seem to be about the cheapest "paid for" service around.

NEWS: 07th May: New Items on Stamp-Collector - Machin Forgeries A couple of years ago I purchased a large Machin lot from Auction and recently, on sorting through them I found what appear to be these forgeries, both are from booklets but are from different origins, one is a complete booklet and the second is a single from a different booklet. NEWS: 3rd May: Do You Collect Third Reich Philatelic Items? There is a very knowedgeable group on Yahoo called Third Reich Stamps - also known as TRS. This is a specialist area of collecting and if you are interested in discussing this subject with like-minded people and helping out fellow members with their queries - this group can be contacted by sending an email to the following address: Send Mail to TRS One of the many advantages to joining this group is that you will find that most are very generous with their resources and as an example I am listing various album pages created by member Bob Jones to whit album pages for booklets and coils which you can download absolutely FREE. NEWS: 1st May: NEW Database Options

We have now expanded the options for the purchase of our Database. There are now four options with appropriate pricing for each.

1. The Professional Edition - this is the full database as has now been sold for the last couple of years and is continually updated and now has some 400+ users.
   
   The data for our Stamp Database now includes all images and references for GB issues up to the end of 2007.
   It actually contains skeleton images all the way through to the end of 2007 that can be updated as Royal Mail releases them.

2. The first of the new options is the Personal Edition. This is basically an empty database, retaining the structure but with the data or images excluded. Because of the size of this database it is convenient to offer it as a download - so no waiting around for the post to arrive.
   
   
3. The third option is the One-Country Edition. Here you can choose which specific country - from the list provided - you want to catalogue. This will substantially save on disk space and also speed up the activities as the program has less work to do and less memory is required. This will be supplied on CD/ROM.
   
   
4. The last option is the Upgrade to Professional Edition. There could be many reasons for upgrading after purchasing options 2 or 3 and this option allows this without paying the full cost of the first option.

NEWS: 28th March : The White Album Re-released. Another Beatles reference - got to get out of this - would you believe I am much more of a Doors fan. The first major Specialist Album is ready for download. You will never have seen such a complete album and if this were produced by normal stamp dealers it would be 10 times the price .. just look what you get for only £7.99 (totally Free-Post). NEWS: 25th March : I Heard the News Today Oh Boy I have been led to believe that the Post Office have seen the light and are going to withdraw the 1st Class (pictured right) and 2nd Class Ordinary Letter PIP stamp later this year and replace it with a "normal" 1st Cass stamp as per the previous Gold issue - although whether it will still be Gold is not yet clear. As I assume this means for booklets as well as sheet verions this would mean that it will have been in circulation for only a year or so and therefore some varieties may be hard to come by - stock up now. UPDATE: Rumour comes true revised stamp issued 5th June 2007.

NEWS: 15th March : Royal Mail to increase Prices April 2nd

A new set of five GB Machins will be released on the 27th March 2007 to match the price increases.

This issue includes the new denominations of 16p, 48p, 54p and 78p.

In addition eight new Country definitives will be released with values of 48p and 78p being released for each region.

101 Tips on Storage and Cataloguing of your Stamps Welcome to the new site for the definitive stamp. Definitive stamps are those published by the respective country Post Offices to establish standard Postal Services. They very rarely commemorate any particular event (there have been exceptions to this rule - the Channel Islands and Isle of Man are good examples of this) and often follow a similar pattern of design and make-up for several years without modification except for Postal Rate changes. For example the British "Machin" definitive has been around with minor change since 1967 - apart from the change to decimalisation in 1971 - and is unlikely to change drastically before the current monarch is replaced.
